On Plan

Today was a great day on my Eat Less, Move More adventure.  Frankly, it happened because I made the decision to do it.  I had been feeling really crummy & bloated due to my diet & lack of exercise and finally I’d had enough.  I woke up knowing that I was going to make good choices today.  And so I did.  Probably a little heavy on the starches and light on the veggies, but definitely much better than I’ve been doing.  And I was right at my calorie goal for the day.   

 

Breakfast: protein shake, banana

Snack: light yogurt, honey wheat pretzels

Lunch: ham & beans

Snack: apple, veggie straws

Dinner: protein shake, banana

Snack: soft pretzel, skinny cow ice cream sandwich

 

Exercise: 1.15 mi walk on AM break & 0.80 mi walk on PM break

 

Go me!  Most of all, I’m excited that I got in some exercise today.  I walked during both breaks at work.  Here’s one of the buildings that I pass.

Look how blue the sky was today!  I couldn’t have asked for more perfect weather.  I put my headphones on, started the Nike+ GPS App, and got moving.  My senses were razor sharp today and I used them to absorb all the beauty around me…..greenery, architecture, blue skies, slight breeze, etc.  It was wonderful!  Now my plan is to keep up the momentum.  After all, I have a 5K this Saturday, followed by a placement walk on Monday (we are timed during 2 separate one mile walks to determine which training groups we will be placed in), and then training for a 10K in August.  I feel good things are just around the corner!
